Talk: The Claxby and Nettleton Mining Industry

07 Mar 2019

To complement the exhibition about Claxby and Nettleton mines, the Town Council and Rase Heritage Society are delighted to welcome Stewart Squires to the Magistrates Courtroom to give his talk about the history of the mining industry in these Lincolnshire Wolds villages.

Stewart is one of a group of heritage enthusiasts who have researched the history of the workings of the mines - the geology and archaeology as well as the industrial heritage and social history of the industry. A fascinating insight into the days when these Wolds villages were buzzing with industry!

Chance to buy at a discounted price Stewart's book on the subject.

Doors open 7pm to browse the exhibition. Talk starts at 7.30pm. Drink and biscuit on arrival! Please reserve your ticket in advance - see below.

Tickets are £3 per person; Rase Heritage Society members free entry.

Tickets MUST be reserved in advance please - due to the limited space in the Courtroom. Please phone the Town Council on 01673 842479 or email bookingsclerk@marketrasentc.co.uk
