Think Local: Discover Caistor’s hidden gems just a stones throw away from town centre

Caistor’s Cornhill area is open for business offering a truly local shopping experience.

Caistor is a delightful market town nestled on the hillside on the northern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. At nearly the highest point in Lincolnshire, the town is notable for its Georgian buildings but dates back to as early as Roman times.

Today, the town is popular with walkers that pass through on the Viking Way, as well as cyclists who tend to stop off at the popular Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre. Within the town centre you’ll find a number of independent businesses ready to welcome visitors to their town.

Just a stones throw from the town centre, work has been taking place in the Cornhill area to allow shoppers to discover some hidden gems. The area is home some fabulous local businesses run by local people, giving you a warm welcome and a real shop local feel. The area offers a café, sweet shop and cocktail bar and bridal boutique.

Previously, parking had become an issue in the area which blocked the sight of the shops. Caistor Town Council have since arranged for the area to lined in to parking spaces which has improved access.

Carl Thomas, Clerk to the Town Council said:

“The work we have carried out to improve the parking situation in the Cornhill area has been a success. We also aspire to link the Market Place with the Cornhill area to encourage shoppers to the area as it is somewhat hidden if you don’t know about it.

“The shops in the Cornhill area are a great asset to Caistor and we want to help promote them to our residents and visitors.”
