Snowdrops at Brightwater Gardens
Enjoy the sights of 190,000 snowdrops, 45,000 crocus, winter irises, and a selection of other bulbs have been planted over 17 years to create a ¼ mile winter walk leading through the garden and woodland.
There are banks of willows, dogwoods and winter flowering shrubs, a grove of gleaming white Himalayan birch and pleached red-twigged limes to delight the visitor. Nearby St. Helen’s church attributed to Capability Brown is well worth a visit.
Hot and cold drinks, savoury pastries, and cake will be available to take away. Undercover seating is available in the Haybarn (by the cosy wood burner) or outside under gazebos.
Good parking, some hard paths, short mown grass paths. Warm clothing and waterproof footwear recommended.
We regret that dogs are not allowed in the garden but are welcome in the car park. We regret that the grass access paths along the snowdrop walk are not suitable for standard narrow wheeled wheelchairs and mobility scooters as the ground conditions are soft during the winter months.
It is not necessary to book tickets, cash or card payment accepted.
