New cycle routes starting in Market Rasen
Two new cycle routes have recently been created by Cycle Lincolnshire, in partnership with West Lindsey District Council, allowing visitors and residents to explore the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds summer.
Funded by West Lindsey District Council, these new routes are available as a printed leaflet with step-by-step instructions or a gpx file, which can be downloaded and added to an app of the user’s choice.
Starting in Market Rasen, this route can be done in two parts or one long ride in a figure of eight. Route one starts in Market Rasen and goes to Caistor passing Osgodby, North Kelsey, Nettleton, and Claxby returning to Market Rasen (33.5 miles / 54km). Route two takes riders from Market Rasen to Wickenby, exploring Friesthorpe, West Torrington, North Willingham, Tealby and back to Market Rasen (25 miles / 40km).

A further route has also been developed near to the Lincolnshire Wolds that allows visitors to explore more of Lincolnshire and it's history. Snakeholme to Wragby is a short circular 11.5 mile / 18.5 km route that starts and finishes at Snakeholme Pit Nature Reserve. Developed to offer visitors the opportunity to also experience nearby destinations including Bardney with its pretty village, Bardney Abbey, Snakeholme Pit Nature Reserve, Apley with one of the smallest places of worship in Lincolnshire, and Wragby itself.
