Beacon Lighting and Enchanted Park at Scrivelsby
The ‘Enchanted Park’ will see part of the historic deer park at Scrivelsby decorated with lights and ancient parkland trees illuminated in colour.
Young and old alike will be able to explore the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Wood that was planted 10 years ago and is now set to be filled with Houses of Light made by members of the local community. There will be a free light-based craft activity so that everyone can ‘take their light to the beacon’. Artists are also working on a lion fire sculpture.
There will also be music, as well as a bar and food available, and people are invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the atmosphere in the build up to the official lighting of the beacon.
The beacon will be lit at 9:45pm, at the same time as beacons are lit across the United Kingdom, and will be followed by a firework display organised by Horncastle Lions.
Gates will open at 7:00pm, and entry to the event will be £5 per car to cover fireworks.
