Absorb the atmosphere at Stourton Woods' Enchanted Lights Event over the evenings of 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th November where the trees and arboretum will be lit up with coloured lights, soft music and special illuminations.
**NEW** this year is a storytelling Bell Tent near the Charity Water Fountain for St Barnabas for your to enjoy. There will also be a **NEW** Fairground Carousel for children (at a small additional cost) creating a fun-filled and magical evening. Also featuring fire dance performances, LED spinning performances and a Treasured Memory Tree.
You begin your experience walking through a lit tunnel leading to a ice themed garden with snowflakes, icicyles and a snowman before warming up along the trail to culminate in fire performances at the end!
You wind through the trees around onto to the Old Hall Lawn where a magical children’s Fairground Carousel awaits, marshmallow toasting and a selection of drinks will also be available. Throw your loose change in the St Barnabas Hospice wishing fountain, take a moment to appreciate the incredible work they provide and chat to one of the St Barnabas volunteers whilst absorbing the atmosphere of the arboretum. Make sure you stop by the story telling bell tent to enjoy some enchanting tales, before walking around to the safari tent where fire dancing and LED performances will take place under the sparkling glitter ball. Don’t forget to follow the festoon lighting around to the home oak tree decorated with baubles and stars; before walking around to add a ribbon to the Treasured Memory Tree. This makes for an truly immersive and entertaining evening for all ages!
For those wanting a snack to enjoy along the trail, there is the opportunity to purchase marshmallows to toast on the specially designed mini fire-pits under the stars on the Old Hall Lawn and at the end of the trail enjoy locally produced food from a variety of street food vendors available around the fire-pit: Curry Jacks, The Roaming Dough, Twisted Group, Fleurs Kitchen (2nd/3rd November) and Flippin Crepes (4th/5th November).
Ferry Ales Brewery will be serving a selection of drinks from the old hall lawn and the bar in the safari tent, where there will be additional seating for you can keep warm beside the log burner.
Stourton Woods are taking bookings over two time-slots (5pm – 7pm and 7pm – 9pm) on each evening over the 4 nights where a one-way system will be in place, if you can try to keep to this as the lights are specially positioned to illuminate the trees to best effect. You are very welcome to stay as long as you like!
