Is Summer Really Nearly Over?

Wow, where did the summer go? Did you get involved in the Horncastle Horse Fair Celebrations? It was a wonderful event that has put the Horncastle Horse Fair firmly back on the map.  We are delighted to announce that we are busy making preparations for next year.

In the meantime, here are a few images which might make you smile.  All the following images are taken by Emma Chippendale, Freeland Artist

Horncastle Horse Fair Trail

Did you take part in the Horse Fair Trail?  Organised by Ian Marshman of the Horncastle Heritage & History Society, over 40 beautifully decorated horses were put up around the town.  They have now been moved to livery in St Marys Church but hurry, they are only there until Friday. Here are a few which you may have seen in on the trail:

The Horncastle Flower Show

This was another marvellous event held at Stanhope Hall.  A perfect showcase for a talented group of growers and makers.  There were plenty of awards up for grabs so why not think about entering next year?

Getting Out and About

It is a great time of year to get out and about and we might even still get some picnics in before the weather turns. Have you visited Bain Valley Park?  It is a brilliant place, just tucked away past Montebello's restaurant (pass the restaurant on your left and keep on going, through Bells Yard).  There is so much nature to spot and some great information boards which will help you identify what you see.  It is hard to believe this site used to be a recycling site!

The Teenage Market Returns

Don't forget that the Teenage Market returns to Horncastle on Saturday 16th September in the Market Place. We have so many great traders including:

ZEC Crafts
Upholstered Unicorn
Stitch N Petals
Paper Crafts
Natures Promise
Miss Quirky Dermy
IceScream969
CS Smithing
Anything but Ordinary
Angel’s

The Shenanigans Theatre Company will be dropping in to create some artistic mayhem so be sure to  look out for 'The Artisans'!Artisans5Artisans3
