Horncastle Horse Fair
It’s time to mark your calendars because the Horncastle Horse Fair is trotting back into town this summer, culminating with the 'Mane Event' on Saturday 10 August from 10am to 4pm. This special arts and heritage event was brought back to life last year to mark 75 years since the last actual Horse Fair and celebrates Horncastle’s history and heritage and promises a galloping good time for everyone who comes along!
Taking place this time primarily at Horncastle Community Centre & Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust HQ on Manor House Lane, the 2024 Horse Fair will be full of creative activities, with performances, workshops, films & talks, a horseshoe hunt and community art trail, a mini parade and you can even say hello to the returning shire horse, Bomber!
Once again featuring West End actor and puppeteer Joe Richardson (originally from Horncastle), alongside Lincolnshire creative favourites, Rhubarb Theatre, Lumo Workshop and Creative Heights as well as a host of other artists, artisans and local organisations, the Horse Fair will be an uplifting community event that will celebrate the town’s heritage and give us all something to smile about.
