The Joys of June
Welcome to June. We're not quite sure how that happened but here we are in the gorgeous month of June! It is the most beautiful time of year and as Wordsworth put it so eloquently:
It is the perfect time to get outside and enjoy all that the stunning Lincolnshire Wolds have to offer. Have you taken part in any activities during the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival?
We went on the guided Horncastle Heritage Trail walk led by Ian Marshman and Nick Fox on Saturday. The sun was shining and more than 40 people joined in this incredibly interesting walk around our historical town. Did you know that the founder of Lunn Polly travel agents had their origins in Horncastle?

The Heritage Trail Walk can be found online here:

or you can pick up a leaflet at the Joseph Banks Centre. The Centre has loads of information about local walks and events so be sure to pop in.

Nature Labs Tour
Did you catch Nature Labs which did a tour of the market towns in half term? This free event enabled children to get connected with nature by examining samples with microscopes and planting wildflowers!
There are still so many fun events to come as part of the Outdoor Festival which finishes on the 11th June. Have a go at clay target shooting, more guided walks, fly fishing, a picnic in the woods and so much more! Check out the website below to see if any events interest you:

We are also at the start of Farming Fortnight. As a wonderfully agricultural county, Farming Fortnight has huge relevance to us and our children. Here is some information from LEAF Education, the UK’s leading agri-education charity:
'Now in its fifth year, Farming Fortnight provides an exciting and inspiring platform to educate and connect children and young people with where their food comes from. This is vital to enable them to make more informed food choices, and help them lead healthy, active lifestyles, – all while capturing their enthusiasm to connect with topical issues around climate change, sustainable diets and well-being and showcasing the range of future career opportunities available in the agricultural sector. Each day of Farming Fortnight has a different theme, with a memorable social media hashtag to encourage schools and students to share their learning experiences.'
