Market Rasen still retains much of the character of its nineteenth century heyday, and the town has stories dating back to pre-Roman times. This interactive tour allows you to explore the area and delve into some of the fascinating stories behind the buildings and locations you see today.

The tour was also recently extended to include 6 new stories, which means Market Rasen now has a 20-stop heritage tour to satisfy even the most ardent history buff.

How to take part

The 20 stories on the website link to 20 real-life signs, which are in place around Market Rasen. The signs and the site take you on a historical tour of the town, with the past brought to life through stories, videos, voices and even a panoramic view from the church tower!

If you have a smartphone or tablet, you can view the stories as you walk round town, with QR codes to scan from each sign that take you straight to the right story. Alternatively, you can look at the stories in the comfort of your own home.
