- Let's set off!
-
1
Climb the stile opposite the old schoolrooms and keep right passing the thatched cottage and going through the fence alongside the garden to a stile that you climb.
-
2
Turn left and walk down to the bottom corner of the pasture with Manor Farm to your left. In the following field, walk ahead, ignoring cattle tracks veering right until a stile in the far boundary comes into view, cross this and a footbridge to a further field.
-
3
Follow the clear path across three fields to reach the road. Turn right and walk with care to climb a stile on the right, just beyond a road junction. Go over another to your left, then walk diagonally up the field to the top right corner.
-
4
Turn right and follow the field edge with the hedge to your left until you reach a waymarked gap, beyond which, keep in the same direction, now with the hedge on your right, to a footbridge at the bottom of the field.
-
5
Cross, and walk left along the field edge to a stile. Go over and walk up the field to a driveway where you turn right. Follow the tarmac to a cattle grid – don’t cross, but veer left and walk with the boundary to your right as far as the corner where you strike out across the field towards woodland.
-
6
Follow the clear path, then track to emerge at a field edge. Walk ahead, boundary left and ignoring paths right and left to reach gates and a stile ahead. Cross, then go diagonally right across the pasture looking for a stile in the far boundary.
-
7
In the following field, walk ahead to a pair of gates (just left of the farmhouse in the distance). Go through and aim for the top left corner of the field to reach the stile crossed on your outward route. Now retrace your steps, keeping the cottage and garden to your left, descending to the stile giving access to the road and your starting point.
- You made it! Well done.
