Lincolnshire Wolds and Coast Churches Festival - Louth, Alford & the coast areas
The Lincolnshire Wolds and Coast Churches Festival will take place during the first two weeks of September.
It is going to be a great celebration with around 130 churches opening their doors to welcome visitors and show off their stories. With free entry, churches and chapels from Louth to Woodhall Spa, Wragby to Sutton on Sea will be celebrating their rich architecture and heritage and offering visitors the chance to become treasure seekers and discover hidden secrets.
Each church offers a different experience, whether it is beautiful memorials and stained glass or stories of local history or simply offering a quiet space in picturesque surrounding. The festival is supporting churches following the lockdowns of the past year. The festival will be different as the country is still experiencing restrictions, so we will be adhering to Government guidelines with regards restrictions and social distancing measures.
Many churches are already planning exhibitions for their open weekend, but also many are this year planning to simply open their doors to welcome a quiet oasis or peace and tranquility for you to sit and take a bit of time out.
- Churches around Louth, Alford, Skegness and the coast will open on 4th & 5th September
- Churches around Horncastle, Wragby, Spilsby and Woodhall Spa will open on 11th & 12th September
