An Update - Shopping Locally in 2021
The UK is now in it’s third national lockdown as of midnight 4th January. Though it’s not the start to 2021 we had all hoped for sadly - a great many of our local market town businesses are still open and remain able to serve you.
If doors are closed due to current restrictions - many shops in your community may take orders via telephone, website or social media, and offer delivery / collection services.
You can continue to enjoy food from many cafes, restaurants and pubs as they switch to takeaway only services under the new guidelines too. But takeaway alcohol is not allowed.
Shops remaining open and classed as ‘essential’ include food shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, garden centres, building merchants and suppliers of building products and off-licences, market stalls selling essential retail may also stay open, petrol stations, bicycle shops, retailers of products and food for the upkeep of animals, and agricultural supplies shops.
This list isn’t exhaustive and shoppers should visit the Government website for more information here.
Keep checking our Facebook and Instagram pages for Love Louth, Love Horncastle, Love Spilsby and Love Alford as they will mention many of the local businesses still able to trade and give you information on revised opening times and delivery services etc. Lots of local retailers and hospitality business are very active and responsive on social media so it’s a good way of keeping in touch with them.
You can search for your local town here too and we are adding to this list frequently with more local shops and businesses.
Please continue to shop local, stay safe & be kind.
